Responsibilities

Cardinal Technology Systems Corp. is a government IT solutions provider servicing commercial and government initiative in various parts of the United States. We are currently seeking a Business Analyst / Functional Tester to work for our company.

Summary

  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government PUBLIC TRUST / SECRET / TOP SECRET Clearance. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
  • The Business Analyst / Functional Tester will support business analysis, Agile project delivery, functional testing, and documentation activities for IT systems and software development initiatives.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, product owners, developers, testers, and project teams to gather requirements, document business processes, create user stories, develop test cases, support functional testing, track defects, and ensure system functionality aligns with business and customer requirements.
  • Support Agile/Scrum project activities, including backlog management, sprint planning, user story development, acceptance criteria, defect tracking, and project documentation.
  • Use Jira to manage user stories, tasks, defects, sprint activities, project progress, and related documentation.
  • Create, execute, and maintain functional test cases and test scripts to support system testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and defect validation.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation such as requirements documents, process flows, meeting notes, test documentation, user guides, standard operating procedures, and status updates.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government PUBLIC TRUST / SECRET / TOP SECRET Clearance. (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
  • 5–7+ years of relevant experience supporting IT systems, software development, system modernization, application enhancement, or enterprise technology projects.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst, Functional Tester, Business Systems Analyst, QA Analyst, Scrum Master, or similar role supporting IT systems or software development projects.
  • Must have experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business, functional, and system requirements.
  • Must have experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, requirements documentation, and related project artifacts.
  • Must have experience creating, executing, and maintaining functional test cases and test scripts.
  • Must have experience supporting functional testing, regression testing, user acceptance testing, and defect validation.
  • Must have experience documenting defects, tracking issues, and coordinating with developers, testers, and business stakeholders to support resolution.
  • Must have hands-on experience using Jira to manage user stories, tasks, defects, sprint activities, and project progress.
  • Must have experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and supporting Scrum ceremonies.
  • Must have experience preparing project documentation, requirements traceability matrices, test documentation, user guides, standard operating procedures, status updates, or similar documentation.
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.

Preferences

  • Experience supporting business analysis, functional testing, Agile delivery, or software/system implementation projects is preferred.
  • Scrum Master certification, Agile certification, or related project management certification is preferred.
  • Experience supporting federal government IT projects is preferred.
  • Experience with requirements traceability and mapping requirements to test cases is preferred.
  • Experience supporting Oracle, ERP, financial systems, case management systems, or other enterprise applications is preferred.
  • Experience with test management tools, automated testing tools, defect tracking tools, Confluence, SharePoint, Visio, ServiceNow, or Azure DevOps is preferred.
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports, metrics, business process flows, workflow diagrams, or system process documentation is preferred.
