Wellabe is looking for a Lead Business Analyst to join our team. The Lead Business Analyst works as a liaison with business units to optimize costs and improve complex business process, products, services, and software by strategically using data analysis to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes.

Be successful in this role

Someone in this role will:

  • Research, identify, analyze, and model business processes and problems of high complexity to ensure a thorough understanding of current and proposed procedures and systems to identify opportunities to improve departmental and corporate operations.
  • Lead collaborations with project stakeholders to build the business case and prepare detailed business requirement documents with information such as project scope, cost/benefit analysis, and efficiency and feasibility of the identified project or business opportunity.
  • Analyze and present documented requirements to the business, technical, software quality assurance teams to report progress and strategies and to create solutions by explaining the cost/benefit of presented solutions, facilitating discussion around selecting the best solutions, and re-evaluating the agreed upon solution to ensure feasibility of implementation and that it meets stakeholder objectives.
  • Through questioning, identifying, defining, documenting, and performing quality review to ensure accuracy of requirements related to the business process or opportunity.
  • Design how and where the business will progress by continuously looking for improvements, evaluating effectiveness, and ensuring others follow the outlined approach.
  • Plan, manage, prioritize, schedule, and monitor all requirement activities of the project such as elicitation, validation, change and scope control, and determination of approach, risks, solutions, and priorities to ensure completion while providing guidance and communication of status to leaders.
  • Design strategies and select the best tools for business analysis practice such as field mappings, linking to DevOps for historical artifacts, etc.
  • Train, mentor, support, and develop less experienced business analysts by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities
  • Establish a performance and data-quality monitoring approach, including success measures, governance checkpoints, and continuous improvement routines that scale across teams.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of the principles, processes, and practices related to business analysis and IT standards and procedures such as Teams, ProductPlan, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to understand, utilize, and communicate technical solutions and have a digital mindset.
  • Advanced critical thinking, analysis, problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and process improvement.
  • Advanced knowledge of AI‑enabled solutions, with the ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, success metrics, and governance considerations that drive responsible, value‑based adoption.
  • 5+ years’ related experience.
  • Project management experience, a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, computer science, or related. Combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
