Let's connect: If you want to experience how things are done in the Reinsurance Valuation & Steering team at our headquarters in Hannover / Germany, join us on a permanent basis, commencing at the earliest possible date as a Controlling and Finance Analyst. In this role, you will support the performance analysis and steering of our international Life & Health reinsurance business under IFRS 17. Working closely with senior management, international business units and experts from Actuarial and IT functions, you will provide valuable insights and decision support for business steering and strategic decision-making.
You can look forward to
- Analyse, validate and comment on the financial results of the Life & Health reinsurance business under IFRS 17 as part of the quarterly close process
- Support the preparation of planning and forecasting data, analyse business performance and identify key drivers of results
- Prepare business reviews, management presentations and audience-specific analyses to support strategic decision-making by senior management and the Executive Board
- Act as a central interface between management, international business units, as well as Actuarial and IT teams, ensuring a consistent application of IFRS 17 across the organisation
- Drive the further development and automation of steering, reporting and analytical processes to enhance transparency, quality and efficiency
You come equipped with
- A completed Master’s degree in Business Mathematics, Mathematics, Economics, or a comparable quantitative field of study
- Initial professional experience in Actuarial, Controlling, or Accounting functions within an insurance or reinsurance company; experience in the Life & Health sector would be an advantage
- Ideally, knowledge of IFRS, complemented by first exposure to Solvency II and a sound understanding of business and financial principles
- Initial actuarial knowledge is welcome; we are happy to support your professional development towards becoming a qualified actuary
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, combined with a passion for data-driven analysis and management reporting
- A strong interest in automation, AI applications, and the continuous improvement of processes and tools
- Business-fluent English skills and, ideally, conversational German
- A proactive, structured, and independent working style, taking ownership of your responsibilities, bringing together different perspectives, and communicating effectively with international stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
