Cyber Business Intelligence Engineer
Role Purpose: The Cyber Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for the hands-on design, development, governance and continuous improvement of Cyber reporting, analytics, workforce intelligence and operational insight. The role builds and supports reporting solutions, semantic models, data transformations and forecasting tools that provide trusted, actionable information for operational, commercial and workforce decision-making.
The role works closely with Cyber leadership, Resource Management, Finance, Sales, Delivery and Technology teams to translate business requirements into reliable reporting and analytical solutions, improve data quality, automate manual processes and maintain continuity of critical reporting capability. This role does not own product strategy, product roadmaps or software product management.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting Delivery
- Translate business requirements across the below domains into clear, practical reporting, analytics, data, and automation solutions.
- Coordinate development, testing, release, implementation, documentation and user adoption for approved reporting improvements.
Business Intelligence & Executive Reporting
- Design, build and maintain Cyber Power BI reports, dashboards and management information solutions.
- Develop and support governed semantic models, reusable DAX measures, Power Query transformations, row-level security and controlled deployment.
- Produce decision-ready reporting covering revenue, utilisation, order book, resource capacity, workforce performance, margin and operational delivery.
- Define and document KPI definitions, reporting logic, data sources and business rules.
- Analyse performance trends, risks and opportunities and provide clear insight and recommendations to Cyber leadership.
Workforce Intelligence, Capacity & Forecasting
- Develop workforce planning, utilisation, resource availability and capacity reporting across Cyber.
- Connect workforce supply, resource scheduling, order book and revenue information to identify delivery constraints and future capacity risks.
- Maintain clear forecast assumptions, reconciliations, version control and limitations.
Automation & Business Applications
- Identify and deliver opportunities to automate manual reporting, data preparation and operational processes.
- Develop or support appropriate solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and associated Microsoft technologies.
- Measure and communicate the time, quality and control benefits delivered through automation and process improvement.
What You’ll Bring:
- Advanced Power BI development experience, including semantic models, DAX, Power Query, row-level security and performance optimisation.
- Strong SQL and data modelling experience, including integration of multiple business systems and data sources.
- Experience supporting enterprise reporting platforms, including Power BI and SentinelIQ-style reporting environments.
- Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse and related Microsoft technologies.
- Knowledge of APIs, system integrations, and reporting automation.
- Python, Microsoft Fabric, or Azure Data experience would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of KPI design, data quality, governance, reconciliation, security, and change control.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable reporting, analytics, and automation solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Experience in workforce planning, utilisation, resource scheduling, order book, revenue, or operational performance reporting.
- Experience within cybersecurity, professional services, or consulting environments would be advantageous.
