You will be joining Bauer Media Audio's Data & Decision Sciences (DDS) team, a collaborative group that helps turn data into trusted insights and solutions across nine European markets. We partner with teams across the business to improve audience engagement, support decision-making, and drive growth through data. You'll work alongside data engineers, analytics specialists, and platform experts who are passionate about creating dependable and scalable solutions.

The Difference You Will Make

As a Support Engineer, you will play an important role in keeping the platforms behind Bauer's data and analytics services running smoothly. You will help improve observability, support cloud infrastructure, and ensure colleagues have secure access to the systems they need.

This is an exciting opportunity to build hands-on experience with modern cloud technologies, automation, infrastructure-as-code, and platform operations while contributing to services used across multiple European markets.

Your Role

Join a team where your curiosity, technical skills, and commitment to continuous improvement can make a real impact.

Working Pattern/Location: Hybrid working from our London or Peterborough office, with approximately one day in the office per fortnight, moving towards 1-2 days per week over time.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor and support AWS services and cloud data platforms using observability tools such as Grafana and CloudWatch.
  • Respond to alerts and support requests to help maintain reliable and observable platforms.
  • Manage and standardise access permissions across AWS and support role-based access controls.
  • Assist with deployment activities, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker-based workloads.
  • Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support onboarding activities by provisioning appropriate system access.
  • Act as a first point of contact for platform alerts, routine tickets, and access requests.
  • Assist with security, compliance, and vulnerability management activities.
  • Work closely with engineers and stakeholders to continuously improve platform performance and processes.

What We Are Looking For

Required

  • Demonstrable experience supporting cloud-hosted platforms, infrastructure, or data environments.
  • Exposure to AWS services such as EC2, IAM, CloudWatch, or related technologies.
  • Experience using SQL and a willingness to develop expertise in cloud data platforms.
  • Basic Python scripting and automation skills.
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub workflows and CI/CD concepts.
  • Awareness of infrastructure-as-code principles and tools such as Terraform.
  • A collaborative communicator who enjoys working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to documentation, standardisation, and continuous improvement.

Desirable

  • Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
  • Exposure to Docker and containerised deployments.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, or governance tools.
  • Knowledge of data cataloguing or access management solutions such as DataHub.
