Full description

Lead End-to-End Industrial Projects as Project Coordinator

Are you ready for the next step in your career? We are looking for a Project Coordinator who enjoys driving projects from order release through completion while working closely with customers, workshop teams, and cross-functional stakeholders. In this role, you will be the key link between customers and internal teams, ensuring rolls and equipment are delivered according to scope, schedule, quality, and profitability targets. You will coordinate workshop and subcontractor activities, manage project execution, track progress, and solve challenges before they impact delivery. If you thrive in industrial environments and enjoy balancing customer expectations, operational execution, and business results, this is an opportunity to make a real impact.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead project execution from order release through completion and project closure.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize project schedules, ensuring delivery dates and milestones remain accurate and up to date.
  • Coordinate activities across Customer Service, Workshop Operations, Procurement, Logistics, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary customer contact, providing regular project updates, delivery status, and resolution of project-related issues.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and deviations, and coordinate corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Manage vendor and subcontractor relationships while ensuring alignment with project requirements and timelines.
  • Track project costs, profitability, additional work estimates, and cost deviations throughout project execution.
  • Maintain project documentation, inspection reports, service reports, shipping documents, and business system records.
  • Prepare project reports, budget updates, invoices, performance summaries, and lessons learned reviews.
  • Drive continuous improvements in project execution, lead-time reduction, delivery performance, and profitability.

Expectations from you

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, workshop operations, engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, or industrial service environments.
  • Proven experience managing customer projects in an industrial setting.
  • Experience preparing project schedules, execution plans, project documentation, and progress reporting.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of workshop repair, machining, manufacturing, and service processes.
  • Good knowledge of project planning, scheduling, execution follow-up, and project coordination.
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness with experience monitoring project costs and profitability.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/business systems.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

To succeed in this role

Success in this role requires proven experience managing industrial customer projects while balancing delivery performance, profitability, quality, and customer satisfaction. You bring strong project planning and coordination capabilities, are comfortable working across multiple functions and stakeholders, and can effectively manage risks, schedules, documentation, and project finances. A solid understanding of industrial workshop operations, manufacturing or maintenance processes, combined with strong communication and customer relationship skills, will help you excel.

We also expect you to align with Valmet’s Leadership Principles—practical behaviors that guide how we lead, collaborate, and succeed together:
