Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Space Planner / Space Auditor to support facility planning, occupancy management, and workplace space utilization for a government customer. This position is responsible for conducting facility space audits, analyzing occupancy and utilization, developing space plans, maintaining accurate space inventory, and supporting strategic facility planning initiatives.
The ideal candidate has experience with ARCHIBUS, AutoCAD, and Revit, enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and can successfully manage multiple planning projects in a secure government environment. This position requires domestic and occasional international travel to conduct facility assessments.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze customer space and occupancy requirements.
- Conduct facility space audits, occupancy assessments, and utilization studies.
- Verify building occupancy, personnel assignments, and space allocations.
- Perform field measurements and validate existing facility conditions.
- Develop, update, and modify floor plans using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and construction documents.
- Maintain accurate occupancy, utilization, and space inventory records.
- Generate occupancy, capacity, utilization, and vacancy reports using ARCHIBUS.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in accountable space inventories, including 1450 and 1450-1 accountable spaces.
- Recommend solutions to improve space utilization, workplace efficiency, and facility planning.
- Support facility planning studies, compliance documentation, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Coordinate with government stakeholders, engineers, architects, interior designers, project managers, quality assurance personnel, and furniture teams.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings for senior leadership.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel domestically and internationally, including occasional overseas travel, as required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Facilities Management, Engineering, Planning, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience using ARCHIBUS (CAFM) software.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience conducting facility space audits, occupancy assessments, and space utilization studies.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and floor plans.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting senior leadership and government customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe products.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting the Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), or other federal agencies.
- Knowledge of workplace strategy, facility management, and strategic space planning.
- Experience supporting office relocations, restacks, or large occupancy planning initiatives.
- Knowledge of occupancy analytics, utilization metrics, and reporting.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams in secure or mission-critical facilities.
