Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
AI-First Product Development
- Create user stories aligned to established product vision and features (epics), emphasizing AI-driven capabilities such as workflow automation, predictive insights (e.g., sales forecasting, service recommendations), and generative experiences (e.g., content suggestions, conversational tools).
Backlog & Agile Execution
- Assist in backlog management for sprint teams; partner with R&D, Data Science, and Scrum Master to prioritize work based on customer value, data readiness, and AI feature impact.
- Support full lifecycle delivery including definition, development, beta testing, showcase, and retrospective.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Product Managers, Product Marketing, Engineering, and Data teams to clearly articulate value propositions for AI-enabled features.
- Ensure alignment between technical feasibility (models/data) and dealer business needs.
Data-Driven Decision Making
- Leverage analytics, user feedback, and experimentation to evaluate feature performance and guide improvements.
- Support testing and validation of AI features, including usability and outcome effectiveness.
Product Metrics & Outcomes
- Learn and track key success metrics such as adoption, profitability, NPS, throughput efficiency (e.g., time saved in dealership workflows), and AI-specific metrics (e.g., model accuracy, utilization).
- Understand how these metrics relate to user stories and feature performance.
AI & Domain Expertise Development
- Invest in building functional expertise in dealership operations and CDK platforms.
- Develop practical understanding of AI/ML fundamentals, including limitations, bias, and explainability.
- Partner with senior Product Managers to translate dealership pain points into scalable, intelligent product solutions.
- Follow all CDK Global policies and procedures
- Complete all mandatory assigned compliance tasks and acknowledgements
- Meet or exceed all performance expectations
Required Job Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, Data Science; OR in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, at least 4 years of related experience.
- 1+ years of Product Management/Product Owner experience or relevant internship
- Strong analytical skills; ability to translate dealership and customer needs into structured requirements
- Foundational understanding (or strong interest) in AI/ML and data-driven product development
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to break complex workflows into actionable user stories
- Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced, evolving technology environment
- Travel up to 25% to engage with dealerships, customers, industry events, and internal stakeholders to gather insights, validate product direction, and support product delivery.
- Thinks dealer workflow first, AI-enabled, prioritizing automation and intelligence to reduce manual effort
- Uses data and insights to inform decisions and continuously improve products
- Designs with trust, transparency, and responsible AI in mind
- Focuses on scalable, platform-based solutions that drive measurable dealership outcomes
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- 1+ year related work experience or relevant internship as product owner, product manager
- Exposure to AI/ML, data analytics, or automation tools
- Experience in Agile/DevOps environments and working with distributed teams
- Familiarity with automotive, retail, or SaaS platforms is a plus
