About the Role

At PM Design, Inc, our Project Managers are leaders, problem-solvers, and trusted client advisors. In this role, you will oversee multiple architectural and design projects from concept through completion while ensuring exceptional client service, strong financial performance, and high-quality project delivery.

You'll lead project teams, mentor staff, coordinate with clients and consultants, and play an important role in driving successful outcomes for both our clients and our company. What You Will Do

Lead Project Delivery

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously through planning, design, permitting, and construction phases.
  • Establish project scope, schedules, budgets, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings and guide project teams toward successful execution.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, profitability, and resource allocation.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and challenges.

Build Strong Client Relationships

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication and foster long-term client trust.
  • Lead project meetings, presentations, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure project goals and design objectives are achieved.

Drive Technical Excellence

  • Oversee project documentation, QA/QC reviews, and consultant coordination.
  • Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and permitting regulations.
  • Review construction documents and provide guidance to project teams throughout the design process.
  • Support entitlement, permitting, and construction administration activities.

Lead and Develop Teams

  • Mentor, coach, and develop project team members.
  • Delegate work effectively while maintaining accountability for project outcomes.
  • Provide constructive feedback, performance coaching, and career development support.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.

Manage Financial Performance

  • Prepare and review proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, and change orders.
  • Monitor project profitability, labor utilization, billing, and forecasting.
  • Partner with accounting and leadership teams on project financial management.
  • Track workload and staffing needs to support operational efficiency.

Support Business Growth

  • Participate in business development and client relationship-building activities.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and repeat business.
  • Assist with proposal development and project pursuits.
  • Serve as a positive ambassador for PM Design Inc within the industry and community.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Education & Professional Development: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture. Active pursuit of ARE exams / Registered Architect (RA) licensure is strongly encouraged and fully supported.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced, hands-on expertise in Autodesk Revit combined with strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Experience: 5+ years of architectural project management experience, specifically handling commercial, retail, or multi-site projects.
  • Core Skills: Thorough understanding of national and local building codes, construction methodology, risk management, proposal creation, and financial tracking.
