Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) is a recognized, industry-led, not-for-profit organization that operates regulated recycling programs across Canada. We provide environmental compliance programs for manufacturers, distributors and retailers of electronics and represent the largest network of qualified processors and drop-off locations in Canada.
Our mandate is to ensure end-of-life electronics are handled in a safe, secure and environmentally-sound manner. We currently have a job opportunity for a Business Analyst based out of our Mississauga head office located at 5750 Explorer Drive. This is for an existing vacancy.
Role Overview
Reprting to the Manager - Project Management Office (PMO), the Business Analyst is responsible for playing a pivotal role in building and enhancing EPRA’s strategic platforms, processes and systems hardware. This position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain software, hardware and tools that support the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Builds a deep understanding of the business processes, data flows and operational procedures
- Conducts in-depth analysis to identify areas for process and application improvements
- Collaborates with stakeholders (subject matter experts, other end-users, project managers, application developers) to define system requirements and/or changes
- Translates client requirements into system design documents, project plans, delivery roadmaps and integrations to other systems
- Creates and completes detailed test plans and scripts to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and functionality of system changes and enhancements
- Troubleshoots internal/external integrations issues to resolution
- Produces and maintains technical documentation for business applications to ensure business requirements, functional specifications, test plans and scripts are current
- Maintains data and performs quality verifications on file imports
- Provides support to end users ranging from training, systems overviews and demonstrations of new functionality and how to incorporate into business processes
- Keeps up to date with current IT industry trends and innovations
Qualifications
- A post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field involving data management/analysis and/or technology
- A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in designing, delivering, managing, and improving IT services to align with organizational objectives
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with business and technical teams
- Practical knowledge of planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining information systems
- Acquainted with processes, methods and techniques utilized to analyze and evaluate business
- Familiarity with Agile project management and software development methodologies
- Basic understanding of SQL and the ability query SIEM logs
- Worked in a team environment
