Senior Business Analyst (Salesforce)

HYBRID | ONSITE AT JOSTENS’ MINNEAPOLIS HEADQUARTERS 3 DAYS/WEEK

 

Under limited direction, the Senior Business Analyst partners with business stakeholders to understand objectives, analyze current processes, and define improvements supported by Salesforce.

 

The role focuses on Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, integrations, and core platform capabilities.

 

It translates business needs into clear requirements, process models, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios for Salesforce administrators, developers, and support teams.

 

The Sr. Business Analyst applies knowledge of platform features and constraints to help teams make sound solution decisions while improving user experience, adoption, data quality, and operational effectiveness.

 

Responsibilities

 

Business process analysis and improvement

  • Elicit and analyze business objectives, challenges, requirements, and success measures through interviews, workshops, observation, and review of operational data.
  • Document current-state processes, identify root causes and improvement opportunities, and design practical future-state processes.
  • Create process flows and other analysis artifacts that clarify roles, decisions, business rules, handoffs, and system interactions.

Requirements definition and delivery planning

  • Translate business needs into clear, testable functional and nonfunctional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.
  • Work with product owners and delivery teams to refine scope, clarify priorities, identify dependencies, and maintain backlog readiness.
  • Support estimation, sprint planning, demonstrations, retrospectives, and other delivery activities as appropriate.

Salesforce solution collaboration

  • Apply knowledge of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, integrations, and core Salesforce capabilities to evaluate options and align proposed solutions with business outcomes.
  • Partner with Salesforce administrators, developers, architects, integration teams, and support personnel to clarify requirements and resolve functional questions.
  • Identify process, data, security, integration, reporting, and user-experience considerations early in the solution lifecycle.

Testing, release, and implementation support

  • Develop test strategies, scenarios, and cases; coordinate and support system testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Validate delivered functionality against approved requirements and acceptance criteria, document defects, and support timely resolution.
  • Assist with release readiness, implementation planning, production validation, and transition to ongoing support.

Stakeholder communication, training, and adoption

  • Communicate requirements, decisions, risks, dependencies, and delivery status clearly to business and technical audiences.
  • Develop or contribute to process documentation, release communications, training materials, and knowledge articles.
  • Gather feedback, monitor adoption and business outcomes, and recommend follow-up improvements.

Continuous improvement and related responsibilities

  • Promote consistent business-analysis, testing, and documentation practices across Salesforce initiatives.
  • Remain current on relevant Salesforce capabilities, business-analysis practices, and emerging technology.
  • Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and directly related experience.
  • At least 5 years of progressive business-analysis experience, including requirements elicitation, process analysis, process modeling, solution evaluation, and stakeholder facilitation.
  • At least 4 years of experience supporting Salesforce initiatives or Salesforce-enabled business processes.
  • Working knowledge of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, core Salesforce platform capabilities, and common integration concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into process flows, functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios for administrators, developers, and support teams.
  • Experience planning and supporting system testing and user acceptance testing, including defect documentation and resolution follow-through.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root-cause analysis, data-informed decision-making, and the ability to draw sound conclusions from complex or incomplete information.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work with confidential information, adapt to changing business needs and technology, and contribute effectively in a team environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within Agile delivery processes, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Experience using Jira to manage user stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, defects, and delivery status
