Product Manager Alternative Investments
FITS Consulting is seeking an experienced Alternative Investments Product Manager with a strong background in finance and investment analysis to support clients, advisors, and broader investment initiatives. Responsibilities include quantitative and qualitative due diligence, investment analysis, product recommendations, fund manager engagement, and product approval across alternative asset classes, including hedge funds, private equity/private placements, real estate, and credit funds. The role offers meaningful ownership in investment analysis, product evaluation, and decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and document Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Specifications to support the onboarding, enhancement, and ongoing support of alternative investment products.
- Partner with technology, operations, legal, and compliance teams to translate business and product requirements into executable solutions and ensure alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead and support product implementation activities, including system configuration, testing coordination, workflow validation, and go-live readiness for alternative investment offerings.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with current and prospective fund managers to support due diligence, monitoring, and product lifecycle decisions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert by communicating product knowledge to internal partners, including operations, marketing, and compliance teams—and directly supporting financial advisors.
- Participate in product approval, product discontinuation, and broader asset class
- evaluation decisions, including the development of supporting whitepapers and strategic analyses.
- Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Financial and investment analysis
- Complex investment products and securities markets knowledge
- Alternative investment performance analytics
- BetaNXT, Envestnet, Apex and similar market data platforms
- Research management systems such as FactSet and Advent Geneva is a plus
- Microsoft Office applications
