Salesforce Developer

Position Summary

Bio-Techne is looking for a skilled Salesforce Developer to take on hands-on development and configuration across our Salesforce environments. You will build well-tested solutions from defined requirements, extend our integrations with other business systems, and help keep the platform stable and performing well. You will work closely with senior developers, admins, and business analysts, with room to grow into more complex design work over time.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Development

  • Design, build, and deploy high-quality applications and solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components, and Salesforce declarative tools.
  • Develop and improve integrations between the Salesforce platform and other business systems using Web Services and APIs.
  • Write unit tests that meaningfully validate behavior, and participate in QA and user acceptance testing cycles.
  • Investigate and resolve production defects, data issues, and user-reported problems; escalate complex issues with clear documentation of findings.
  • Work with Salesforce clouds including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, and Field Service Lightning.

Quality & Collaboration

  • Participate in code reviews as both author and reviewer, and adhere to established development standards.
  • Recommend configuration versus custom code approaches for the work you own, with input from senior developers on higher-impact decisions.
  • Document what you build so others can maintain it, and ensure configuration changes are well-documented.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies — sprint planning, refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives — and communicate progress and blockers clearly.

DevOps & Delivery

  • Deploy changes through established CI/CD pipelines using Git-based version control, following the team's branching and release process.
  • Contribute to release management and impact analysis for the changes you own.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience using Apex, SOQL, SOSL, Lightning frameworks, and Salesforce APIs.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Salesforce integration patterns, including SOAP, REST, and BULK APIs, and familiarity with third-party integration tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Lightning Web Components and at least one of the following clouds: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, or Field Service Lightning.
  • Experience with Git-based version control; exposure to CI/CD tooling.

Preferred Certifications

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I
  • Salesforce Administrator
  • Salesforce Platform Developer II

Certifications are valued but not required — equivalent demonstrated experience is weighted equally.
