DevOps Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join the ASTRO Call Processing (ACP) team and take ownership of CI/CD, automation, and deployment enablement across several products.

In this role, you will design, develop, maintain, and improve automated deployment and testing processes while supporting the team through ongoing architectural changes across the platform and deployment landscape.

You will work closely with software engineers, infrastructure teams, QA, and other stakeholders to improve delivery processes, solve complex cross-system issues, and enable reliable, scalable, and self-service software delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

• Build and maintain infrastructure and deployment automation using Ansible, Python, Bash, and Groovy.

• Support and troubleshoot Jenkins pipelines, agents, integrations, and build infrastructure.

• Improve the reliability, performance, and maintainability of CI/CD processes.

• Automate testing, deployment, configuration, and operational workflows.

• Work with Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, and Artifactory across the software delivery lifecycle.

• Troubleshoot complex issues spanning CI/CD, operating systems, networking, virtualization, and applications.

• Develop reusable, maintainable, and well-tested automation components.

• Review technical solutions proposed by other teams and provide constructive technical feedback.

• Contribute to architectural changes affecting deployment and platform infrastructure.

• Help establish and promote clean code, automation, testing, and DevOps best practices.

• Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to improve developer and delivery experience.

• Mentor other engineers and contribute to the adoption of self-service deployment and operational capabilities.

Basic Requirements:

• Solid professional experience in DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, or release engineering.

• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible.

• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Groovy, Bash, or similar technologies.

• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, including pipeline development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

• Strong Linux skills, with confidence in operational troubleshooting and system-level diagnostics.

• Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and routing.

• Practical experience with Git and Artifactory.

• Experience designing and maintaining Ansible-based automation.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across multiple systems and technologies.

• Ability to review technical solutions and identify potential risks, improvements, and trade-offs.

• Strong focus on code quality, maintainability, clean code, and reliable engineering practices.

• Strong English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

Nice to Have:

• Experience providing operational support for AWS, particularly EC2.

• Experience with KVM or other on-premises virtualization and delivery infrastructure.

• Experience with release engineering and package signing.

• Experience mentoring engineers and supporting their technical development.

• Experience introducing or expanding self-service capabilities for development and engineering teams.

• Experience working in environments undergoing platform or deployment architecture transformation.
