This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Business Analyst based in India.
As a Lead Business Analyst, you will play a key role in improving procurement processes and translating business needs into effective data and BI solutions. You will work across procurement, finance, IT, data, and other stakeholder groups to understand complex requirements and define practical solutions. A major focus of the role will be supporting Power BI dashboard development, from requirements gathering and data modeling through design and user acceptance testing. You will also contribute to project planning, governance, risk management, and successful implementation. The role combines business analysis, technical understanding, stakeholder management, and continuous process improvement. You will work in a remote, cross-functional, and cross-cultural environment where clear communication and strong ownership are essential.

Accountabilities: You will lead business analysis activities across procurement-focused initiatives, ensuring requirements are clearly understood, documented, translated into functional solutions, and delivered effectively.
- Drive continuous process improvement initiatives aligned with evolving procurement business needs.
- Collaborate with procurement leaders, category managers, finance controllers, IT teams, and data owners to gather, analyze, and document business processes and requirements.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications for Power BI dashboards, including data models, calculation logic, visualizations, and user interactions.
- Produce and maintain business requirements documents, functional specifications, and data mapping documentation.
- Support the Project Manager with project planning, scope management, effort estimation, milestone tracking, and delivery against timelines and budgets.
- Track requirements-related issues, decisions, risks, and dependencies through RAID and Decision Logs.
- Communicate project plans, progress, risks, issues, and decisions clearly and promptly across governance forums.
- Support deployment and implementation activities, including UAT coordination, user engagement, training material preparation, and hypercare support.
- Facilitate collaboration between business and technical teams to ensure solutions meet functional and operational needs.
- Help identify opportunities to improve processes, data quality, reporting capabilities, and overall user experience.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced IT Business Analyst with strong Power BI expertise, excellent stakeholder management capabilities, and the ability to translate complex business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience working as an IT Business Analyst, including at least 1 year in a lead capacity.
- Proven experience eliciting and documenting business requirements for BI and dashboard projects.
- Strong experience producing BRDs, functional specifications, and data mapping documents.
- Direct experience with Power BI projects, including requirements definition, dashboard page design, data model review, and UAT facilitation.
- Strong understanding of Power BI data modeling, including star schemas, DAX measures, row-level security, incremental refresh, and report design best practices.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms, particularly Azure, and the flow of data from source systems into BI layers.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders across cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
- Fluent written and spoken English and Japanese.
- Experience with procurement analytics, spend analysis, or spend classification/categorization is preferred.
- Experience working with ERP and procure-to-pay data, such as SAP MM, SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle Procurement, or similar platforms, is a plus.
- Understanding of procurement data structures, including purchase orders, invoices, contracts, goods receipts, supplier master data, and material/service categorization, is advantageous.
- Familiarity with spend classification frameworks such as UNSPSC, eClass, or custom category taxonomies is a plus.
