Job Title: Telecom Financial Analyst

Reports to:Sr. IT Finance Manager

ROLE SUMMARY

The Telecom Financial Analyst supports the administration and financial management of the organization’s telecom environment, including mobile devices, circuits, voice services, and network connectivity. This role maintains accurate telecom inventory and billing records, supports telecom service lifecycle activities, and provides administrative support to IT Finance through purchase order entry, audit documentation, and recurring or ad hoc reporting. The position collaborates with Information Technology, IT Finance, Procurement, Accounts Payable, internal business partners, and telecom vendors to promote accurate records, timely service support, cost visibility, and compliance with established processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate records of telecom assets and services, including mobile devices, circuits, voice services, network connectivity, service ownership, cost center assignments, and lifecycle status.
  • Audit telecom inventory to ensure services, devices, billing records, and internal records are properly aligned.
  • Support onboarding, employee transfers, service upgrades, and decommissioning of telecom services and equipment.
  • Coordinate telecom Moves, Adds, Changes, and Disconnects (MACDs) with internal teams, vendors, and service providers.
  • Monitor the telecom inventory lifecycle and identify unused, inactive, underutilized, or duplicate services for review and potential elimination.
  • Assist with telecom invoice validation by comparing billing details to service inventories, purchase orders, contracts, and supporting records.
  • Investigate telecom inventory or billing discrepancies and coordinate resolution with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Enter and maintain purchase requisitions and purchase orders for telecom and other IT Finance requests in accordance with established procurement processes.
  • Gather, organize, and provide documentation in support of requested internal and external audits.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc telecom and IT Finance reports as requested.
  • Maintain organized documentation to support record retention, audit readiness, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Assist with process documentation and other operational support activities for Telecom and IT Finance as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in telecom administration, financial operations, procurement support, asset management, accounts payable, or a related role.
  • Experience maintaining records, reviewing detailed data, processing purchase orders, or supporting audit and reporting requests.
  • Working knowledge of mobile services, voice services, circuits, network connectivity, or telecom inventory management.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective organizational, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with Tangoe or another Telecom Expense Management platform.
  • Experience with SAP or another enterprise resource planning or purchasing system.
  • Experience supporting telecom billing, inventory audits, invoice validation, purchase order processing, or operational reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
