Senior Business Analyst

Role overview:

Lead business analysis across ESCS capabilities, connecting strategic outcomes, operating processes, data needs and user requirements to deliverable solution increments. The role provides analytical leadership, assures requirements quality and mentors other analysts.

The role you will play:

  • Shape a coherent view of the business problem, target outcomes and required change.
  • Lead discovery and translate needs into prioritised, testable requirements.
  • Maintain traceability from capability and process change through delivery and acceptance.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead stakeholder discovery, workshops, interviews and analysis planning.
  • Develop capability maps, current and future process models and target operating model content.
  • Elicit, analyse, prioritise and manage business, user, data and non-functional requirements.
  • Create epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria and story maps with delivery teams.
  • Lead process re-engineering and evaluate business change impacts.
  • Maintain requirements traceability through design, build, test, acceptance and benefits.
  • Support data modelling, migration analysis, UAT, training and adoption planning.
  • Mentor analysts and establish proportionate analysis standards and templates.

Required skills and capabilities:

  • Business architecture and capability mapping

  • User story mapping, backlog refinement and acceptance criteria
  • Requirements traceability and lifecycle management
  • Data modelling and data analysis

  • Workshop facilitation and stakeholder management
  • Agile, hybrid and structured analysis approaches

Required experience:

  • Leadership of business analysis on complex technology-enabled transformation.
  • Experience translating ambiguous business needs into clear, testable requirements.
  • Experience working across business, architecture, engineering and testing disciplines.
  • Experience coaching analysts and assuring analysis outputs.

Desired experience:

  • Supply chain, procurement or order management transformation.
  • Enterprise SaaS implementation.
  • Target operating model development and organisational change.
  • BCS, IIBA or equivalent professional qualification.

Pay Range:

£73,700.00-£97,000.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
