Job Summary
The Cybersecurity Analyst is responsible for monitoring security systems, reviewing alerts, and supporting compliance and documentation efforts to help protect the organization’s networks and information. This role provides analysis, guidance, and recommendations to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
This is an onsite position in Cape Canaveral, FL.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, etc.) to identify potential threats, breaches, or anomalous activity.
- Review and triage security alerts to determine scope, urgency, and potential impact.
- Identify vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for remediation to appropriate teams/stakeholders.
- Assist in implementing security enhancements and control improvements, in coordination with IT/leadership, based on identified risks or audit findings.
- Proactively search for threats using Computer Network Defense (CND) tools, including intrusion detection system alerts, firewall and network traffic logs, and host system logs.
- Support compliance efforts by maintaining and updating security documentation, policies, and procedures in line with applicable frameworks and requirements.
- Document all activities that occur during an incident using established methodologies and procedures.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incidents to define follow-up action items and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
- Provide professional guidance and advice to leadership and other teams on security best practices and risk mitigation.
- Develop and maintain thorough, up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity threats, compliance requirements, and incident response best practices.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, IT Security, or another relevant field preferred. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
- Two (2+) years’ experience in Cyber Security or another relevant industry experience.
- Certifications like CompTIA Network+, Security+, Partner Certifications, etc. preferred.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53 and/or NIST 800-171 frameworks and control families preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
Physical Requirements
- Sedentary Work – occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force to carry, lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves being stationary most of the time, sometimes requiring moving about the work center on concrete surfaces.
- Computer Work – daily use of laptop, computer monitor screen, keyboard, and mouse, sometimes utilizing a headset with microphone & speakers.
Travel Requirement
- Ability to travel < 10%

- Onsite work Monday through Friday; day shift
