Guardian Energy has an exciting opportunity for an IT Systems Analyst to join the IT team. As an IT Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing Guardian's technology environment by developing a strong understanding of the organization's IT systems, infrastructure, and business processes. You will be the IT resource on-site at an ethanol manufacturing facility. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to identify technology needs, support business objectives, and drive continuous improvement across IT systems and services. In this role, you will build and maintain strong working relationships while effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. Success in this position requires strong problem-solving and time-management skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a curiosity for emerging technologies and industry trends. You will provide support for a variety of technology platforms, including desktops, laptops, servers, mobile devices, and related infrastructure. The role requires the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with team members to resolve service requests and technical issues. Additionally, this position requires a foundational understanding of networking concepts and the administration of network infrastructure components, including switches, wireless devices, and other network-connected systems.
This position may require travel to all plant locations as needed to support plant projects & initiatives approximately 5% and will be based at our Janesville, MN location.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Provide exceptional customer service in person, via phone and email as appropriate.
- Act as on-site technical support for location.
- Resolve issues including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Perform user administration duties.
- Procurement of IT equipment, maintaining inventory and safeguarding of such equipment.
- Act as a resource for Managed Services staff regarding company specific questions.
- Provide support for company line of business applications including troubleshooting, installation and configuration of advanced level software and hardware.

o Work with application vendors and Managed Services provider to isolate root cause of issues
- Analyze and diagnose technical issues, identify root causes and apply appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external groups including executive-level team members, end users and vendors.
- Collaborate across multiple teams, such as developers, system administrators or network engineers to resolve complex issues.
- Independently drive communication with remote teams (RSM) and other IT professionals to ensure success at Guardian.
- Work collaboratively with other key players on project planning to ensure all interconnectivity tasks are identified and addressed in project scopes.
- Stay up to date with current technologies and technical developments.
- Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department and company.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Five to seven years of hands-on experience working in manufacturing environment, network or end-user desktop support role
- Operations or manufacturing environment experience required
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Microsoft Office 365
- Windows 7 through Windows 11
- Windows Server 2012 through current
- Remote Desktop support
- Active Directory
- Advanced printer / peripheral device troubleshooting
- TCP/IP, DNS and DHCP
- Remote support for handheld smartphones and tablets
- Strong communication and teamwork skills as this position requires frequent interaction with clients and managed services team members.
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple support requests simultaneously and prioritize tasks as needed
- Valid Driver’s License required.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: This job may require lifting of up to 50 pounds occasionally.
At the time of this posting, the pay for this position ranges from $30/hour – $45/hour. Compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
