The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for tracking the organization's financial performance and offering financial guidance to Scientific Affairs business partners.  Additionally, they will ensure that financial commitments are met by advising Scientific Affairs teams in budget management and resource allocation while proactively identifying opportunities to optimize expenditures and investments.  This role requires completing financial forecasts, reporting, and analysis of complex financial data that will help influence decisions and set strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the processes related to financial forecasting and closing.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to stakeholders while delivering insightful analysis to facilitate effective decision-making.
  • Analyze complex financial data to identify opportunities and influence strategic business decisions.
  • Prepare and present financial results to leadership, emphasizing the key messages around Scientific Affairs performance.
  • Assist in key compliance activities by ensuring comprehensive financial compliance reviews are conducted, including balance sheets and external compliance assessments.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with business partners across cross-functional teams and key stakeholders.
  • Lead and execute initiatives to improve efficiency through the standardization of processes and automation of reporting.
  • Active engagement in financial transformation efforts (SIGNIFI).

Qualifications

Required:

  • A minimum of 3 years of finance, accounting or related business experience is required.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in Accounting, Economics or Finance.
  • The candidate must have strong analytical skills (particularly in MS Excel), alongside excellent conceptual, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective communication, framing presentation skills along with solid interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills are required.
  • The individual must work well in a dynamic environment and be able to recommend and implement process improvements, work independently, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • The ability to effectively take on leadership roles and partner with associates at all levels of an organization.
  • This role is located in Irvine, CA and may require up to 10% travel.

Preferred:

  • Certifications: CPA, CMA, or other Advanced degree
  • Experience using data visualization tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, etc. and data analysis tools such as SAP, Anaplan, etc.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$79,000.00 - $127,650.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation –120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave – 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off – 80 hours per calendar year
