The Product Manager will lead product strategy, roadmap definition, and lifecycle execution for mobile app experiences within Abbott Diabetes Care’s CGM ecosystem. With a particular focus on the digital needs of people who use insulin, this role will translate customer, clinical, business, and technical needs into clear product requirements, partner cross-functionally across product development and commercialization teams, and guide decisions that advance the product experience from concept through commercialization in a regulated medical device environment.

This is an onsite opportunity based out of Alameda, CA.

What You’ll Work On

  • Own product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management for consumer-facing mobile apps within Abbott Diabetes Care’s CGM ecosystem, balancing the needs of people who use insulin with clinical value, user experience, technical feasibility, regulatory and quality requirements, and business impact.
  • Translate the needs of people with diabetes, caregivers, health care professionals, commercial partners, and the business into clear product requirements and priorities for mobile app functionality, onboarding, data visualization, connectivity, and system-level experiences.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment with mobile engineering, platform and backend engineering, product design, UX research and human factors, data and analytics, clinical, regulatory, quality, cybersecurity and privacy, marketing, sales, and customer support teams.
  • Apply strong digital health and mobile product judgment to evaluate tradeoffs related to usability, accessibility, reliability, performance, privacy, security, interoperability, localization, and global market needs.
  • Conduct market, customer, competitive, and product performance analysis to identify opportunities that improve the mobile app and broader CGM ecosystem experience, product quality, user confidence, and commercial performance.
  • Support regulated medical device development activities, including design controls, system requirements, risk management inputs, human factors, verification and validation planning, clinical and regulatory evidence needs, and quality system expectations.
  • Support regulated digital medical device development activities, including design controls, software and system requirements, risk management inputs, human factors, verification and validation planning, cybersecurity and privacy requirements, clinical and regulatory evidence needs, and quality system expectations.
  • Manage dependencies across mobile apps, platform and backend services, device connectivity, data and analytics, clinical, regulatory, and launch plans; anticipate risks, resolve priority conflicts, and keep teams focused on critical-path decisions
  • Define and monitor success metrics for app reliability, quality signals, customer satisfaction, adoption, engagement, support trends, and commercial performance; adapt plans based on data and stakeholder input.
  • Partner with marketing, training, field, and support teams to prepare positioning, launch readiness, sales enablement, customer-facing communications, and lifecycle updates for mobile app launches and releases.
  • Communicate product vision, customer needs, technical tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to senior stakeholders, bringing a digital health and mobile product perspective to CGM ecosystem strategy and execution

The base pay for this position is $114,000.00 – $228,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
