Location: Remote

Schedule: This position is mission critical and essential to the ongoing operations and requires a flexible schedule to support a 24/7/365-day operation.

Job Summary:

The Business Analyst will work closely with MVM’s corporate personnel, program managers, and stakeholders to strategize ideas to improve business processes, develop cost benefit analysis recommendations and support implementation of improvements across operations. This role is remote.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an integral team member supporting the culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence throughout the company.
  • Collaborate across business managers and decision makers through interviews, observation, and facilitated working sessions to identify process improvement opportunities. 
  • Participate in strategic meetings to review, evaluate, and propose new business solutions to improve operations, contract performance, business value and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform program audits, root cause analysis, gap analysis, and/or process mapping to streamline processes and resolve inefficiencies and operational issues.  
  • Conduct cost benefit analysis projects to identify cost saving opportunities without jeopardizing operational excellence or customer service.  
  • Oversee the analysis and business need for new technology and systems; Persuade internal and external stakeholders of the benefits of new technology or strategies.
  • Employ appropriate methodologies of problem solving to assist management teams in realizing and implementing solutions to solve problems.
  • Support the business in honing or establishing “best practices” and work with business managers to ensure policies, processes and procedures are updated and aligned.
  • Monitor the completion of tasks and project timelines and assist company executives in documenting and communicating program performance.
  • Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the company.
  • Coordinate with different departmental teams to improve business operations, streamline processes and develop effective implementation plans to affect change.   

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, change management, project management or a related field OR at least 5 years’ experience in a related field.
  •   2-3 years’ experience as a business analyst, technical writer, project manager, or a related field.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders, listen actively, and work closely with program owners to develop acceptable solutions.
  • Requires clear, strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with different departments, employees, multiple levels of management, and clients.
  • Must be committed to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook. Visio preferred.
  • Familiar with analytical reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of technology and an understanding of how technology can be used to implement process improvement and solve problems. 
  • Self-starter with excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Produces high-quality deliverables with strong attention to detail.
  • Desired prior experience working with government contracts.
  • Desired Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), ITIL Certification OR similar certification

Clearance: 

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a government background investigation and may be required to meet the following conditions of employment.

 Security Requirements: 

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Security Clearance. 
  • Favorable credit check for all cleared positions. 
  • Successfully pass a background investigation, drug screen.
  • May be required to pass or present specific requirements depending on the program (i.e., DOT exam, vaccinations, CPR, flu shot).
  • US Citizenship

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Consider into account the position at hand (i.e., lifting, pushing and pulling won’t be very necessary).  Percentages should be modified to reflect the necessity for each position.

Standing/Walking/Mobility:  Must have mobility to attend meetings with other managers and employees.

Traveling: 10% - 20%

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling:  0% - 10% of the time.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing:  0% - 10% of the time, must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Fine Motor Skills/Dexterity:  Must be able to write, type and use a telephone system 100% of the time.

Sitting:  Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
