A Day in Your Life at MKS
We are seeking an exceptional Sr. Engineering Manager to lead the Reggio-Emilia (Italy) based Engineering team within the Plasma Solutions business unit. This group is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and characterization of complex semiconductor systems, and will be the primary focus of this leadership role.
The Senior Engineering Manager will guide a team of experienced multi-disciplined engineers who play a critical role in R&D, New Product Introduction, and Sustaining Engineering. This team drives resolution to complex issues on released products, continuous product improvements, and compliance for both new and legacy systems.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Lead a technical team to drive and deliver to product specifications, systematic design, circuit analysis, design for cost & manufacturability, PCB design, documentation, and test plan development.
- Foster a culture of innovation, with a focus on cross-functional data driven problem-solving techniques
- Works closely in collaboration with the entire Plasma Solutions engineering group (US-based) on the design of new and/or legacy products
- Works closely with Product Marketing, Project Management (PMO) and other cross-functional groups to successfully meet customer expectations
- Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements
- Communicates technical information effectively in both oral and written forms through design reviews, failure analysis, product specifications, test plans and technical reports
- Regularly interacts with other Senior leaders and customers requiring the ability to prepare and present information and key business updates.
Skills that You Bring:
Technical Oversight
- Provide technical leadership across a variety of disciplines including conventional and solid-state microwave generation, electronic control systems, mechanical subsystems, signal acquisition, and data processing.
- Lead technical team to drive the design, modeling, testing, and packaging of highly complex microwave components and systems
- Work closely with Product Marketing to scope market requirements and customer needs
- Work with Project Management on project budgetary costs, schedule, and technical specifications
- Ensure product design meets industry and regulatory compliance requirements and standards
Required Qualifications
- Engineering Degree required or related experience >10+ years
- At least 2+ years of engineering management or technical leadership experience
- Demonstrate organizational leadership, driving results, coaching team members, and cross-functional collaboration
- Understanding of product development process
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- English mandatory
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with high-powered microwave generators and systems
- Knowledge of conventional and solid-state based microwave techniques and applications
Initial salary range for this role: €59.000-€111.500, determined based on objective and gender-neutral criteria, including role level, relevant experience, skills, and internal pay structure.
