Full description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Manager II - Payment Orchestration based in India.
This role will own the product strategy and execution for a critical payment orchestration platform that powers transactions across invoices, subscriptions, point-of-sale, and mobile checkout. You will shape the roadmap for the systems responsible for routing payments, managing transaction lifecycles, processing receipts, and handling provider events at scale. Working closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Support, and partner-facing teams, you will translate complex payment infrastructure challenges into reliable and scalable product solutions. The role combines strong product judgment with technical fluency, requiring you to understand payment routing, provider integrations, APIs, webhooks, and failure modes. You will use data and operational metrics to improve transaction success, reliability, provider coverage, and developer experience. This is an opportunity to own foundational payments infrastructure that supports a broad global customer base and directly influences customer trust and business performance.

Accountabilities:
- Own the Payment Orchestration Roadmap: Define and execute the product roadmap across the payment orchestrator, transaction lifecycle, receipts, and webhook ingress, prioritizing reliability, provider coverage, transaction success, and platform scalability.
- Drive Payment Routing and Provider Strategy: Develop product strategies that improve authorization rates and cost efficiency through intelligent payment routing, provider selection, retries, failover, and effective management of multiple PSPs and gateways.
- Manage the Transaction Lifecycle: Own product requirements for authorizations, captures, refunds, voids, and disputes, ensuring transaction states remain accurate, consistent, and idempotent throughout the payment lifecycle.
- Build Reliable Webhook Processing: Define solutions for robust inbound webhook processing that normalize, deduplicate, and reliably distribute provider events to downstream services while maintaining strong delivery guarantees.
- Improve Receipts and Transaction Records: Ensure customers and downstream systems have access to accurate, well-structured receipts and transaction records that provide clear and trustworthy payment information.
- Elevate APIs and Developer Experience: Partner with Engineering to create clean, scalable, and well-documented payment APIs and event models that enable internal teams and product surfaces to build confidently on the platform.
- Champion Reliability and Observability: Treat uptime, latency, error rates, reconciliation, and transaction accuracy as core product metrics. Drive instrumentation, alerting, monitoring, and operational improvements that strengthen platform reliability.
- Support Security and Compliance: Incorporate PCI, risk, data integrity, security, and compliance considerations into product decisions, ensuring the platform remains secure and scalable as transaction volumes increase.
- Use Data to Drive Decisions: Analyze authorization rates, transaction success, failure reasons, latency, provider performance, and reconciliation gaps to identify opportunities, prioritize investments, and measure product impact.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Support, and partner-facing teams to align the platform roadmap with the needs of the payment experiences and products it supports.
- Own Measurable Outcomes: Focus beyond feature delivery to drive measurable improvements in transaction success, platform reliability, provider coverage, developer experience, and customer trust.
Requirements:
- Product Management Experience: 4+ years of Product Management experience, ideally focused on payments, fintech, platforms, APIs, infrastructure, or other technically complex products.
- Payments Knowledge: Working understanding of payment systems, including PSP and gateway integrations, authorization-to-settlement lifecycles, webhooks, idempotency, reconciliation, transaction states, and payment failure scenarios.
- Platform Product Experience: Proven track record of shipping impactful platform or infrastructure capabilities that improved reliability, coverage, transaction success, adoption, or developer experience in a high-scale environment.
- Technical Fluency: Strong ability to collaborate with engineering teams and engage meaningfully with API design, event models, routing logic, system architecture, integrations, and technical tradeoffs.
- Reliability Mindset: Strong focus on correctness, uptime, edge cases, and operational resilience, with the ability to think beyond the happy path and account for retries, timeouts, duplicates, failures, and reconciliation issues.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Comfortable analyzing complex and incomplete data, including transaction logs, provider behavior, failure reasons, performance metrics, and operational trends to identify patterns and make informed product decisions.
- Customer and Developer Focus: Ability to balance business objectives, operational risk, customer trust, and the needs of internal development teams when defining product priorities.
- Strategic and Execution-Oriented: Able to establish a clear product strategy and roadmap while remaining deeply involved in execution, prioritization, delivery, and measurement of results.
- SaaS and Platform Understanding: Familiarity with SaaS and platform growth levers, including internal platform adoption, developer experience, scalability, reliability, and the role of infrastructure in customer outcomes.
- High-Scale Payments Experience: Experience working on a payments or fintech platform processing significant transaction volumes across multiple providers is a strong advantage, particularly where you can demonstrate impact on reliability, authorization rates, or customer trust.
Benefits:
- Remote-First Environment: Opportunity to work in a global, distributed organization with a remote-first culture.
- Meaningful Product Ownership: Direct ownership of foundational payment infrastructure supporting multiple transaction experiences and a broad global customer base.
- High-Impact Work: Opportunity to work on complex payments challenges involving routing, transaction processing, reliability, provider integrations, and platform scalability.
- Fast-Paced Product Environment: A lean operating model focused on testing ideas, iterating quickly, and bringing valuable solutions to market efficiently.
- Continuous Learning: Exposure to the challenges of scaling B2B SaaS products and developing technically sophisticated products for a global customer base.
- Collaborative Culture: Work alongside passionate teams across Product, Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Support, and other functions.
- Employee Well-Being: A culture that emphasizes team well-being and recognizes its importance to delivering strong customer outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: An environment built around experimentation, iterative development, and ongoing improvement.
- Financially Stable Environment: Opportunity to join a well-funded and profitable organization.
