Where Cloud lives and AI thrives
Job Description
NEXTDC is looking for a hands on network engineer to operate and continuously improve the IT and OT network estate across our data centres. You'll take day to day ownership of configuration, troubleshooting and change execution in a Juniper, Fortinet, Ivanti, OpenGear and Aruba environment, working closely with our Network, Security, OT and Facilities teams.
This is a core engineering role for someone who prefers solving problems at the CLI to escalating them. Scripting, automation and AI assisted tooling are a growth area here, not a barrier to entry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating, configuring and troubleshooting switching, routing, firewalls, VPN and wireless across the IT and OT estate
- Owning standard changes and incident diagnosis, improving runbooks as you go
- Supporting incident and problem management, and identifying recurring risks
- Establishing core monitoring and logging: device onboarding, alert rules and dashboards
- Integrating monitoring with ITSM, CMDB and DCIM where possible
- Contributing to automation of repetitive tasks such as config backup, compliance checks and bulk changes
This opportunity will see you working with world leaders in our space. Join our Malaysian journey now and be an integral part of our success.
Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years in network engineering or operations, with strong hands on experience in production enterprise or data centre environments: switching, routing, firewalls, VPN, HA and segmentation (any vendor)
- Genuine troubleshooting ownership, comfortable diagnosing across multiple vendor platforms from the CLI
- Solid grasp of enterprise wireless fundamentals, remote access VPN and out of band management
- JNCIA-MIST or JNCIA-SEC, or willing to obtain within your first 90 days
- Desirable: Juniper (Mist, EX, QFX, SRX, MX), Fortinet (FortiGate/FMG/FAZ), ClearPass, Ivanti VPN, OpenGear or Aruba
- Desirable: OT/ICS exposure and IEC 62443 style segmentation, Python or Ansible automation, and comfort using AI coding assistants
Additional Information
- Seize this exciting opportunity to join one of Australia’s fastest growing companies and play a key contributing role in the future of AI and the digital economy
- Join an inclusive, diverse and values driven working culture supporting hybrid work practices
- Enjoy awesome employee benefits (gifted share options, NEXTDC days, volunteer days, professional development, holistic wellbeing and mental health programs and more)
- Great opportunities to progress within our company (grow as we grow)
Our mission is to continue building a diverse and inclusive workforce which represents the communities in which we operate.
Make NEXTDC your next move.
