Join American Express as a Product Manager, Payments (12 Month Fixed-Term Contract) and play a key role in developing, delivering and optimising payment capabilities and Card Member experiences across Australia and New Zealand.
This is a great opportunity for someone who combines payments expertise with strong product and project management. You will work closely with local and global stakeholders to shape the payments roadmap, lead strategic initiatives and deliver secure, compliant and customer-focused outcomes.
We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, highly collaborative and confident navigating complex cross-functional environments. The role offers the opportunity to lead payment innovation and represent Australia and New Zealand requirements within a global organisation.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the payments capability roadmap across Australia and New Zealand, aligned to customer needs, business priorities and enterprise strategy.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of payment initiatives, from discovery, business case and requirements through to testing, governance, implementation and post-launch optimisation.
- Partner with Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Servicing and external partners to deliver secure, compliant and customer-focused payment capabilities.
- Represent local market, customer and regulatory requirements within global product roadmaps and delivery plans.
- Monitor product performance, customer feedback, operational issues and market developments, and develop recommendations to support innovation, continuous improvement and investment decisions.
Qualifications
- Product management experience within payments, banking, fintech, financial services or digital products.
- Strong understanding of payment products, customer journeys and the Australian payments ecosystem; knowledge of NPP, PayID or PayTo is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and managing multiple priorities through to delivery.
- Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving and commercial skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, influencing and stakeholder management capabilities across local and global teams.
- A collaborative, customer-focused approach with strong attention to risk, governance and operational detail.
